7 day solo fast and light through the alps - part 1
« on: August 15, 2014, 11:47:26 AM »
So ladies and gents,

I am in a soggy valley after part one of my tour.

3 days over the ridges of the Schafreuter massif. Staying up on the ridges the whole time...

Bivvying in my hammock. Ground way too steep and wet for anything else.

Here some initial pics...

Now I will do one night under roof to get everything dry and then tomorrow up 930m / 3000ft to the Karwendelhaus area.

Overnight outdoors there and then up the Birkkarspitze (2749m - 9019ft) to stay in the shack up there.

I must say, that looks & sounds like an outstanding trip!  Some really fantastic photos, but the one above simply floors me!  So amazing!  I wish I were there to see it in person...

Be careful & smart when needed, and enjoy the remainder of your trip.

Thanks so much,

u.w.

Wow that looks like an awesome trip! I used to want to climb mountains but life gets in the way and you wake up out of shape and too old, lol! Take tons of pictures. Those look like some amazing landscapes.

The beauty of using a bivvy system in such terrain is that you just walk as far as you feel like it.  Then you pitch your setup and go to bed.

You can always make the overall route shorter....

:-)

Super accessible way to get around...

The SUP has been the most AWESOME cross training to get my body strong for this....

But even this trip is really just training for some of the ones I want to do in the winter....

Hoo hooooo stay tuned!
