Ocala National Forest Camp
« on: March 15, 2021, 01:58:36 PM »
Great weather for our time in the woods.  Highs around 80 with a gentle breeze and temps around 50 at night.  Perfect sleeping weather.

Bad habit of mine is to take pictures of anything except people.  Some of the others took pictures and probably captured people.

At the very least, we got PICTURES of the area....makes me realize what I missed. :-\    I was just happy to see the 'Breakfast of Champions' included....Maker's Mark & BACON!

What meat (seafood) item was included in that dish on the skottle, besides the elbow macaroni?

I appreciate the shots of that beautiful area where you guys spent the last few days, crash....I sure wish I could have been there, but I'm sure you know why I wasn't.  NEXT YEAR I'll try my best to remedy that situation!  :

Give the rest of the Kraks my best regards & well-wishes! I know Hushnel was not there, but please let him know that we used the handmade pot-chain that he gave Heather again tonight to get rid of some crap that stuck to the bottom of our chicken fryer.....made us both recall our last night around the campfire in Florida. :hail: :fire1:

At least you got whole pictures,  I usually have a habit of cutting off heads at the neck.

That was a shrimp, pasta and alfredo sauce dish.  The day before was shrimp wrapped in bacon with bbq sauce.

I don't know if camping by the pond would be cool.

Probably not Ron.  But the sand rails, Jeeps, and 4wheelers tear that place up.  2 wrongs don't make a right.  Sam and I have seen a huge erosion issue since the first camp in 2010.  Mainly in the side roads in and out of the ditch.  Oddly the ditch is easier now, so someone is trying.  But I think we gave the most sensitive area enough space.  It's not that far of a hike from the intersection.  And It hasn't run off the wildlife that I could see in my stands over the years.

OMG A GUN!!!! Oh wait, I'm not THAT new yorker. Couple other things I noticed. The two flashlights on the coleman. I looked at that for way too long to figure it out. Why is this Florida and photos of water holes and NO ALLIGATORS? Every puddle has a gator right?

Nice nice nice. Jealous. Going canoeing next weekend. Goin ta fish. Hopefuly catch too....

CrashDive gifted me one of of those magnetic LED flashlights. Perfect for the Coleman stove. I should get another one for a gator eyes view. Gators in Florida get a bad rap. There are a few areas where they are definitely concentrated, but not every freshwater pond has a gator population. But always be on the lookout.

The prairie (Hopkins) definitely has gators.  The sinkhole doesn't .  I still keep an eye out with the dog pack.

Good looking trip crash!  Is that marsh area saltwater or fresh?  I like the sandy pine forest Florida has.  I'll be there in about month and look forward to some hikes and bike rides in those areas around the panhandle coast.  Thanks for all the pics!
