Scout Wall Tent - the next generation
« on: February 06, 2015, 04:48:16 AM »
Like the canvas scout tents, this is the result of a deal gone bad between the supplier and buyer on a big order.

The supplier marked this tent BAD ZIPPER, so it will need a zipper repair, don't know which zipper or what will need to be done and I haven't taken it out of the case to look.

Normal retail on this tent is $225.00 plus shipping(MSRP is MUCH higher) but given that it has a zipper issue I'm putting this one up for $150.00 plus shipping.

This tent is the next generation of the canvas scout wall tent I got in last year. This version is made of a durable but very light nylon/polyester fabric and features 2 windows on each side with mosquito netting, 2 roof peak vents that have a prop secured by velcro (these do an amazing job of avoiding condensation inside)zipper doors on each end and mosquito netting doors on one end that are removable.

It measures 9 feet wide, 7.5 feet long, 7 feet tall in the center and 3ft tall on the sides. Perfect size for 2 GI cots on the sides with room in the middle. Some minor construction details may differ, but it will be essentially the same as the picture.

Weight is just under 16 pounds.

Frame, stakes and ropes not included at this price. Quite frankly the shipping costs on frames even if I could get them would be excessive, so I include a diagram of the dimensions so you can build your own to best suit your needs. Some people build them from conduit or heavy duty PVC, some do wood frames at a set location, its all up to you.

This is what it looks like

Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? One should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, it is much safer to be feared than loved.

I know I am little late on this link, but are there any more tents available for sale?

Yes thank you. I went on the website last week and saw he was sold out there as well. I emailed him from the email link there and have not heard back. I hope everything is good with him.
I found a source for the canvas scout tents similar to the ones wilderbeast was selling before these next generation ones, 8x10, and I have two reserved, the seller may have three more if anybody is interested. They are said to be in great condition and come with poles, I have not nailed down the cost of shipping, I told him he could cut the ridge pole in half to fit a box better and then they can be spliced with a pipe.
