Paracord By The Pound, 550 cord for $5.50
« on: February 12, 2015, 03:03:10 PM »
OK now that I have everyone's attention here is the deal.

I just picked up about 60 miles of real type 3 paracord.  It comes from surplussed parachutes so the length of each piece will be about 30 feet and I'm selling it by the pound.

There are around 200' of paracord in a pound (probably closer to 220').

No choice of colors, what you get is what you get.  And what you get is the best deal on paracord I could find anywhere.

Less than 3 cents a foot for military grade, not the commercial stuff.

$5.50 a pound

Shipping will be based on actual cost, and when I get around to it I will let you know how many pounds of paracord you can stuff into the various fixed price boxes and padded envelopes.

I am currently taking orders

First class international looks to be the best bet.  2 pounds would run about $9.99, 3 pounds is closer to $14.00 and a flat rate padded envelope is $19.95 for up to 4 pounds.

Not sure what paracord goes for up in Canada but this would work out to around $5.00/100'

is it used?   >:D

 :)

That's a great deal!

Yes and thank you.
Cool deal! Do you have the parachutes too? I have heard of all kinds of uses for them.

No chutes, they just take up too much space so they aren't as cost effective.  Plus they are a pain to pack and ship.

I sure you'll be bringing a few lbs east when you come next week. I might be able to scrounge a 20$

Creek

Yeah I'll bring a sack of cord.

Sounds like 2lbs should do me nicely for awhile Beast.... thanks for pricing that out

A few yr's back Paracord was not to common up here, that has changed now but it is still fairly expensive compared to Stateside... even with the shipping & exchange rate I will still be way ahead.

Craig,
I'm not sure yet, it is sitting on my trailer under a tarp and I have to go away tomorrow on an unscheduled trip. But at a guess I think we are in the 3-4 pound range, probably closer to 4 pounds

I'll get it nailed down to a closer figure when I return. Hopefully Monday if it isn't snowing.

OK folks, I'm home for a few days so as long as the ice storm that's coming doesn't freeze the tarp on the paracord I'm ready to take orders.

Please PM me with your zip code and number of pounds you want and I'll get back to you with a total and payment infor for those who haven't ordered from me before.

Thanks.

Mike,

Did you ever get an opportunity to figure out about how many pounds fit in the various sized fixed price shipping boxes and padded envelopes?

Like I need more paracord.

OK OK OK...so I really didn't NEED three dozen spoons either.  But if Wolfy shows up for some tactical soup eatin'....I wanna be ready.

A padded envelope holds just over a pound, a size A regional box holds about 4 lbs, a medium flat rate box holds around six pounds and a regional size B holds around 7 pounds

Got my paracord from Wilderbeast today.  It was a day late according to the projected delivery date on the USPS tracking site.  I am NOT complaining.  I figure it was delayed due to the weather between him and me.  Just wanted to pass that on in case any of ya'll are waiting on deliveries.

When Beast packs a box with paracord, he packs a box with paracord.  I've found a few lengths that appear to have suffocated due to lack of air in the box.  I got seven pounds from him.  I've pulled out about 150 feet so far.  It's not tangled bad at all.

I'm glad Wilderbeast doesn't have an online catalog.  I'd probably be destitute and/or divorced in short order.

As always, Mike, a pleasure doing business with you.

John

Thanks.

I think the USPS has done a crackerjack job getting these boxes delivered considering the weather they have been dealing with.

Sorry about those suffocated strands

I'm beginning to feel like a piker for only getting 3.5# of it,

Yea, I didn't want to say anything about it butttttt yea, don't be such a Piker.........

Hey. leave Wolfy alone. He ties everything slippery so he never has to cut it.  Cordage lasts a lot longer that way.

Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? One should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, it is much safer to be feared than loved.
