Holiday?
« on: October 12, 2021, 05:44:00 AM »
Today is Columbus Day , made official in 1937 anyway. Bur it seems that the legacy of Columbus Is mo longer in favor so is it correct to make note of his accomplishments both positive and otherwise?  Designating an official holiday was a big deal for the Knights of Columbus at the time but things are more muddled these days.

A day of rest is still a day of rest though. So maybe it doesn't really matter. These things get too complicated anyway.

Even as i recognize the far more complex web of life all around while sitting in the shade of a favorite tree things seem simpler.

Best to all regardless of what or how the day or any other is celebrated.

we hear a lot of ing about America's lack of border control, and that just mirrors the experience of the so called 'native Americans' back in yesteryear.  They had no concept of border control either, and look at where that got them.

  Point well made.

I guess we have no more right to the place than they did when it comes down to brass tacks.
