Honor those that have given their lives to live the lives that we do.

And given the state of this country and the world, let's pray their sacrifice has not been in vain.

Decoration Day in 1868, Memorial Day in 2022 and all the poppies in between.

A long time ago I led men in combat. I don't honor the fallen so much as curse the war makers.

Formerly the usual response to all the "Thank you for blah blah blah" was terse and unprintable. These day it just no longer matters simply because it's just the same ol same ol every single day. We have learned nothing. Nothing at all. And that is the real tragedy.

I know this is not going to be popular, especially here, but then neither I nor the dead care.

Politicians fight wars, usually for profit, Soldiers fight to keep themselves and their fellow troops alive, the real problem today is that not enough people care, greed and power promote wars whether in the streets of Chicago, NYC, Seattle, or the Ukraine and Iraq.
Damn the war makers if you must, but care about the fallen, and those who will fall in the future for as long as there are those who seek power and riches, there will be wars.

 More people need to care.

I went to our local memorial day service in town on Monday.   A sad day that reminds us of how precious the sacrifice those men and women made.  I thought about my best friend in High School who didn't come home.
