Mistaken Identity
« on: February 16, 2012, 11:31:36 AM »
Hey Guys-

There is a rumor floating around out there on the forums  that I have registered here under the user name "Nelson."

While I'm sure Nelson is a very nice guy, I was wondering if someone, Nelson in particular, could clear this up.

Thanks,

Beanbag

I'm not really sure, but as an administrator, I presume you are in a position to clear this up.

Would that be possible?

Thanks.

I don't think I've seen anything to make me think you are Nelson and vicey-versey.

Beanbag, welcome to our forum!

I'm sorry if you are being subjected to some kind of witch hunt. When a new member registers here, they are free to pick any username they wish.

Our ability to determine "who's who" is only as good as the tools we have available to us. We have been able to identify a couple of troublemakers from elsewhere on the internet. But we can neither confirm nor deny any of our members' identity without their input.

If you are having a hard time somewhere else, it is entirely outside of our ability to do anything about it. Your best course of action is to take it up with the people who are so concerned about "who's who" that it is causing problems for you. I know that might seem harsh and callous, but please remember who doesn't trust you, and who would welcome you.

We don't really care who our members are, so long as they enjoy participating here and don't cause any problems. What they do elsewhere is their business.

YES! Thanks Nelson and BeanBag, for your involuntary and unfortunate involvement in this valuable lesson.

I am Sparticus, actually he's Sparticus, yup, that's him.

Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? One should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, it is much safer to be feared than loved.

I agree Red. This is just sad. What significance is it as to who I am? Or who BeanBag is?

What???

It seems that the individual was getting pressure on the other forum to prove that he was not a member here. It's sad, but I can't say it's out of character for that forum. At least that's what i understood.
