A day ended badly for a bird.
« on: December 21, 2017, 10:37:27 PM »
A few weeks ago I was out hiking with my daughter and we went to a spot where we often stop to get out of the sun during the summer months. It's a shady place under some trees with some big rocks to sit on.

Well this time we came upon the remains of a predator kill. Anyone have any ideas what kind of animal would catch and eat a bird, bones and all except the feathers? I figured it had to be coyotes or a cat. it was so fresh it had to have been only hours old.

Looks like a bad day at my bird feeder.... :-\

Lots of feathers and no corpse tells me it was a hawk, owl or eagle.  They didn't consume bones and all, they carried it off.
Don't bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Try spending 30 seconds in my head. That will freak you right out!!
