How about forks...
« on: January 24, 2018, 04:00:39 PM »
Had to ask.... ;)

I make custom knives. But sometimes it's about forks to go with the knife. I'm learning a bit about their design. It's pretty complicated.

I want to know more. It's hard to find a good fork.

Never had much use for one....never said I didn't know how to use it. 8)    Seriously though, I can easily get by without a fork, but I find it way harder get by without a good spoon.  You can eat anything with a nice big spoon.

Oh, and I LOATHE sporks! >:(

I ate a lot of camp meals with just a knife and spoon.  However, I like forks, especially those with just two tines and a decent handle.  Something like a carving set fork but smaller.  The two tine type are not so good for eating things you cannot stick, like noodles for instance, but they are great for eating meat and roasted potatoes.  It would be neat to have a good knife and two tine fork as a camp set just to use it.  Stag handles would be good too.

I have a Spork and find it to be somewhat useless as a spoon and a failure as a fork.

I was thinking of a carving / cooking type fork, though maybe gizamo was speaking of eating forks too.
A wooden fork is not especially functional because the tines must be too thick.

Hush's wife gifted me a period correct 2 prong fork at one rendezvous.  I don't think it was expensive, but it means a lot to me.
At least it's not a femur through the pelvis.
